Over the past ten years I have taught individual and group lessons within schools, universities and privately. Teaching is a great passion of mine as I am always eager to pass on the skills I have learned over the years from my own incredible teachers and my experience in the industry.
I am currently the drum tutor at The Academy of Music and Sound, Swindon. Teaching Level 3 BTEC courses, Foundation Degree and BA (Hons). I also teach privately within the drum studio at The Academy. Home visits are also possible if you are looking for drum lessons in Bristol.
Lessons will of course be tailored to the individual needs of the student. Whether you already have some experience and would just like to improve your reading skills or perhaps revisit some basics in technique to iron out any bad habits. I always place an emphasis on the importance of time keeping and groove, regardless of ability level. It is often forgotten that our job, as drummers is to keep time, provide a good groove for the rest of a band and make them sound good! Using a wide range of backing tracks we can cover any style of music in a very practical way.
If you or your child would like to work towards drum grades, I primarily use the Trinity and Guildhall drum kit grade books and have a 100% pass rate which I am extremely proud of. Every single student put forward has achieved a distinction over the past couple of years. Rockschool grades are also an option if you would prefer.
Ability levels range from beginner to advanced, any age welcomed.
